HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON® AND HAMPTON INN® OPEN UNIQUE JOINT HOTEL
IN SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND
January 9, 2009


MEMPHIS, Tenn., January 9, 2009 – Homewood Suites by Hilton®, the international brand of all-suite, residential-style hotels, and Hampton® Hotels, the international brand of more than 1,600 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites® hotels, today announced the landmark opening of their first dual-branded development. Located in Silver Spring, Maryland, the 13-story hotel boasts 149 Hampton rooms on the lower eight floors and 90 Homewood studio suites on the top five floors. The hotel is owned by Milestone Capital Corporation and managed by Milestone Hospitality Management.

We’re thrilled to introduce this project in such a high-profile market.”

Located at 8728 Colesville Road, the hotel splits its lobby between the brands, offering two separate check-in desks and lodging/dining areas – each catering to the needs of their respective customers. Communal areas include the meeting rooms, business center, pool, and workout room. An interactive media presentation is displayed on a 42” flat screen television in the lobby, which describes the layout of the hotel for guest education.

Homewood Suites guests enjoy a daily complimentary Suite Start® hot breakfast in the hotel’s hospitality center—the “Lodge”—an evening reception featuring a complimentary light meal and beverages Monday- Thursday evenings, an executive business center, and a 24-hour on-site pantry.

Hampton Hotels offers guests complimentary On the House® hot breakfast seven days a week and a 24- hour hot tea and coffee station. All guest rooms feature amenities such as complimentary high-speed internet access, free in-room movie channel, and Hampton’s signature cloud nine bed – the ultimate bed experience.

Built in 1969, the hotel is a conversion from a previous office building structure that housed Computer Science Corporation through the 1970’s. Vacant throughout the 1990’s, the building was renovated and recently won the 2008 Architectural Conversion Award. The city of Silver Spring has undergone redevelopment within the past 15 years and has made great strides by revitalizing the warmth and character of the city, making it the second most popular destination in Maryland. Major nearby corporations include the world headquarters of Discovery Communications and the American Film Institute.
